Most helicopters come with 2 channel radios, all the way up to 6 channels. Some of the lower end model, such as the Syma S-001 3ch RC Helicopter, can fly for up to 15 minutes on a 60 minute charge using a lithium polymer battery for extra long life. 

In addition to the advanced battery pack, the controls of the mini helicopters are pretty advanced too.
